Arvika konsthantverk (”Handicraft in Arvika”) was founded in 1922. It is the oldest co-operative handicraft society in Sweden. One of its initiators was Maja Fjaestad, who worked within the group of artists living and working near Lake Racken.

There has been a strong and lasting tradition of arts and crafts in Arvika since then. Over the years well-trained craftsmen and craftswomen have brought new influences, which have been combined with the local tradition.

Today the co-operative has about 25 members, who are jointly running the business.
